Kompong
Chhnang, A big village with the colonial charm in its old workings
and a harbour zone with floating villages. Many houses on pile
on marshy banks of the Lake Tonlé Sap and a large floating
village inhabited by Vietnamese. Kompong Chhnang is located
at 91 km of Phnom Penh. It is also a stage for fast boats which
go in Siem Reap. |

On the lake, many craftsmen
live of the manufacture in bamboo of parasols, walls, shelters,
etc. Many children work (see above) to split bamboo with an archaic
machine. |

Every house in the campaign
is a small factory of potteries. The women make these jars when
the work does not call them to fields. A particularity, there
are no potter's wheels, they turn around the clay by hiting with
a board and shape the jar. |
